The most important relationship you will ever need is the one with God. Most persons chase the wrong things in life – they chase wealth, careers and vane relationships that is portrayed through the media and miss the opportunity to experience true unconditional love.
God desires YOU to come to Him. He will not force you to love Him and honor Him. He gave free-will and He desires your heart to seek Him.
James 4:8 4Draw near to God and He will draw near to you Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
When you build a relationship with God, you learn what true love is and so it is easy to express and receive love from man and you will also create solid and healthy relationships. If you miss this stage, you will encounter a series of heartbreaks and disappointments. However, it must not be negated that when you turn over your entire to life to God, your life will not immediately be perfect but your heart will be opened in a different way and the way you love others will be how God loves.
Start by doing these three (3) habits.
- Read the Bible.
You cannot know what you don’t know. You need to gain knowledge and one way of doing this is to research by reading. When you read God’s Word, put skepticism behind you. God cannot work with a mind that is already against spirituality. You have to HUMBLE!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
- Talk with Him by PRAYING.
You build any relationship via communication and it is no different with God. Tell Him exactly how you feel about life and your destiny. Express your love and your honor for him just as you would with your parents or your friends. Talk to HIM!
Matthew 6:6 6But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
God does speak and yes to everyone! If your life is too busy and your heart too filled with skepticism and pride, you will not hear His voice. You need to hear His voice because that will usher you into your destiny! Mediation is so simple – all you need is to be still in a peaceful environment. When you are being still, you do not speak and try not to think but simply just breathe.
Psalm 119:15 15I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.
It is also advised that you join yourself to those that will help you along the way which means becoming a member of a church.
Hebrews 10:25 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
You need a relationship with God as this relationship is the foundation for all other relationships you will encounter in your life.
